Saving redundant gas boilers from the scrap heap: Aira meets The Salvage Sister
Today, residential heating is Europe’s third-largest emitter of CO₂ and is responsible for 16% of the UK’s CO₂ emissions…
Read moreAira mission is to reduce total global carbon emissions by 1% by decarbonizing European homes.
Aira, an innovative direct-to-consumer heat pump company, has entered the European market, backed by Stockholm-based investment group Vargas. With a mission to decarbonise homes, Aira offers energy-efficient heat pumps on a monthly subscription basis, eliminating upfront product and installation costs.
Led by CEO Martin Lewerth, formerly of the Scania Group, Aira is piloting its services in Italy and plans to launch in Germany and the UK in autumn 2023. The company has acquired a 55,000 m² production facility in Wroclaw, Poland, with production scheduled to start in 2024.
Aira has a vertically integrated approach, handling everything from product development to installation. The company is developing its own sales force and training academies to ensure a high quality customer experience and to retrain gas boiler engineers as heat pump specialists.
With ambitious plans to serve five million European homes within the next decade, Aira is poised to make a significant impact on the heat pump market.
