Henrik Henriksson has assumed the role of CEO at H2 Green Steel

As of May 3rd, Henrik Henriksson has assumed the role of CEO, leading our efforts to become an industry leader at the forefront of sustainability and digitalisation. H2GS will accelerate the crucial transformation of the European steel industry and supply fossil-free steel to the European market.

− Henrik Henriksson is an internationally renowned leader in sustainability with a broad network within the industry and European politics. Henrik’s experience of transforming a world-leading commercial vehicle manufacturer into a global leader in sustainability will be invaluable as we set out to disrupt the traditional steel industry. By starting from scratch and implementing sustainability and digitalisation across every step of our production, we will achieve real green impact, says Carl-Eric Lagercrantz, Chairman H2 Green Steel.

Henrik Henriksson was the CEO of Scania between 2016-2021, and a member of the executive team at TRATON SE.

Henrik Henriksson is on the board of directors at Electrolux, Hexagon, SAAB, Creades and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. In 2020, Henriksson was Chairman of ACEA (The Commercial Vehicle Board of Directors of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association). Henrik Henriksson, born in 1970, holds a Master of Science in Business.

In 2020, Henrik Henriksson published the internationally acclaimed book Sustainability Leadership.

About H2 Green Steel

H2 Green Steel (H2GS AB) was founded in 2020, aiming to build a large-scale fossil-free steel production in northern Sweden. H2 Green Steel will produce 5 million tons of fossil-free steel by 2030. By doing this, the company will contribute to the decarbonizing of the European steel industry, one of the largest carbon dioxide emitters.
